YOU CAN KNOW YOU ARE SAVED

The Holy Bible tells us we can know we are saved. 1 John 5:13 states I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

The Bible also tells us in 2 Corinthians 13:5 Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you--unless indeed you fail the test?
So how is it that a person may know they are saved?
We are to examine ourselves to see (1) whether we are in the Christian faith and (2) whether or not Jesus Christ dwells in us by His Spirit.

If we have been born again, have believed by faith and repented then our lives will give evidence of the fact that we are saved. When we become saved God changes us from the inside out. Noticeable changes are the inevitable result. God gives the believer new desires and a new way of thinking. Those are just two examples of changes which become noticeable in a Christian. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says; Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

The one verse of Scripture which ties this all together is ........
Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
God gives those who are saved an internal witness. He witnesses to our human spirit by His Spirit that we are saved. This internal witness by God's Holy Spirit is an unmistakable witness which God gives to every born again believer.

So if you have examined yourself, have believed and have become born again, as well as experienced evident changes in your life, and have God's Spirit internally witnessing with your human spirit, then you can rest assured that you are saved.

Born again by the grace of God in 1989 at which time I surrendered my life to Christ, and now seek to serve Him.
